Can organic liquid fertilizer be applied in winter after repotting an orchid
I have an orchid at home, and I repotted it in winter, so can I use nutrient solution on the orchid in winter?
First of all, when you repot the orchid in winter, what is the indoor temperature? This is very important. If the indoor temperature is relatively low, it is recommended to use a sprayer to moisten the potting soil and then pot the orchid, and after potting there is no need to water it. If the indoor temperature is relatively low, the moisture in the potting soil evaporates with difficulty, and if it stays like this all winter, it is very unfavorable to the orchid's root system.
If your temperature is still acceptable, above 20°C, then after repotting you can use this organic liquid fertilizer on the orchid. This nutrient solution can be used once every half month according to the ratio. When choosing these nutrient solutions, be sure to choose ones that contain live bacteria. These are beneficial bacteria, which are very helpful to the orchid's root system and can also prevent root rot.
If your temperature is below 15°C, then there is actually no need to use these fertilizers, because root activity is already relatively low, and even if you fertilize it, it cannot absorb much. To avoid waste, you can just skip fertilizing for the whole winter.
