Keeping orchids indoors or outdoors

The flowers that orchids produce are very beautiful. Normally they can be placed indoors or outdoors for care, but it is best to place them indoors. When caring for them indoors, they should be placed in a sunny spot facing south, which allows the orchids to grow better and makes the temperature easy to control in winter. If kept outdoors, the plants are easily scorched, and in winter they will also suffer cold damage.

Orchids are best kept indoors

Orchid flowers are very beautiful, and the flowering period is also long, but there are certain differences; it is usually best to keep orchids indoors, which allows them to grow better and may even extend the orchid's lifespan. Care must be taken when growing them outdoors.

Orchids have a certain tolerance for shade, but if orchids are kept indoors, it is best to place them near a south-facing door or window, or place them on a balcony. This gives the orchids appropriate light, encourages the flowers to bloom more vividly, and also prevents them from being scorched by the sun in summer.

If orchids are placed indoors for care, the doors and windows can be opened during the day for ventilation and to give them plenty of sunlight, and in the evening the doors and windows can be closed, using heating, air conditioning and other tools to keep the indoor temperature at around 10°C. Keeping them indoors makes the temperature easier to control and prevents cold damage to the plants.

Although keeping orchids outdoors provides good ventilation and light, when the hot summer arrives, orchids placed in strong sunlight are easily scorched. And in winter, although they can grow better during the day, whenever the temperature drops in the evening, the plants are easily damaged by cold, so it is usually best to keep them indoors for care.
