How to Solve Yellow Spots on Clivia Leaves

What Should You Do When Yellow Spots Appear on Clivia Leaves?

Yellow "measles-like" spots often appear in the middle portion of clivia leaves. They are caused by soil that is too dry or too wet, by fertilizer applied at too strong a concentration, or by "raw fertilizer" that has not been fermented and fully decomposed. In addition, during hot weather, if a potted clivia is placed in a stuffy, poorly ventilated spot or exposed to scorching sun, and bacteria then attack it, yellow spots will appear: the leaf first turns yellow in patches, and eventually the entire leaf withers and turns yellow.

Prevention and control methods:

① When fertilizing, prefer dilute over concentrated, and follow the principle of light, frequent applications.

② In hot weather, potted clivia should be placed in a semi-shaded, cool, well-ventilated spot, and fertilizing should be paused.

③ The soil should not be too dry, nor too wet.

④ Immediately cut off the leaves with yellow spots to control the spread.
