Eight common symptoms of pig poisoning; you must not be careless when feeding pigs
You must not be careless when feeding pigs: eight common symptoms of pig poisoning
1. Botulinum toxin poisoning
It is often caused by the spoilage of animal-based feed such as fishmeal, blood meal and bone-and-meat meal. This bacterial toxin mainly attacks the animal's nervous system, so symptoms of nerve paralysis predominate, mainly manifested as paralysis of the lips, tongue, pharynx and other areas.
2. Salmonella poisoning
It is commonly seen on pig farms with frequent rodent activity and is caused by contamination of feed and drinking water. It manifests as acute gastroenteritis symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, reduced appetite and dehydration.
3. Aspergillus toxin poisoning
Poisoning is triggered by feeding moldy, spoiled feed. It mainly manifests as digestive disturbances and neurological symptoms.
4. Salt poisoning
Poisoning is caused by feeding too high an amount of salt, or mistakenly feeding pickled meat brine, pickled vegetable liquid and the like, after which water deprivation or insufficient drinking water worsens the poisoning. Symptoms are drinking large amounts of water, drooling, trembling, spasms, blood in the feces, and finally a comatose state.
5. Nitrite poisoning
When vegetables suffer insect damage, trampling, frost, piling, rotting or transport, especially in a damp and stuffy environment or when simmered over a low fire in a pot, the nitrate they contain is very easily converted into highly toxic nitrite, and feeding them will cause pig poisoning.
Symptoms are drooling, abdominal pain, diarrhea, difficulty breathing, unsteady walking, cyanosis of the whole body skin and visible mucous membranes, appearing dark blue-green, with body temperature mostly dropping.
6. Alkaloid poisoning
Alkaloids are nitrogen-containing organic compounds. There are many kinds of alkaloid-containing plants and they are widely distributed, such as delphinium, lupine, veratrum, potato, poison hemlock and so on.
Alkaloid poisoning in pigs mainly occurs in rural areas, because rural areas have the habit of cutting pig grass to feed pigs. Common symptoms are excitement or dullness, twitching and spasms, opisthotonos, weakness and so on.
7. Poisoning by cyanogenic glycoside-containing plants
Fresh sorghum and corn seedlings both contain cyanogenic glycosides, and their regrowth seedlings contain even more cyanogenic glycosides. Flaxseed, and the leaves and seeds of peach, plum, Japanese apricot, apricot, cherry and loquat also contain cyanogenic glycosides; eating too much of them can cause poisoning in pigs.
It manifests as bright red oral mucous membranes, foaming at the mouth, breath with an almond smell, weakness and so on.
8. Additive poisoning
Poisoning is often caused by the abuse of drugs in feed and excessive additives. Common symptoms are digestive disturbances, diarrhea or constipation, hair loss, increased dander and so on, and in severe cases it can cause acute death.
In winter, respiratory symptoms tend to recur, so during pig raising, special attention must be paid to respiratory problems. I recommend to you a "Three-Gold Formula"!!!
Use the antiviral drug Huanglian Jiedu San, combined with the respiratory-specific drug Wanhuning, and at the same time combined with the antibacterial drug Fluoroquinol, to control secondary infection. Use continuously for 4 days and you will see obvious results; generally after two days of medication you will find that deaths decrease and feed intake increases markedly. This is a "Three-Gold Formula" that many farmers report has very good results after use.
