Potted plants are prone to dying when overwatered, so you must control the amount of water you give them.

Beginners are always afraid of not caring for their plants well and worry about not looking after them properly, so they try their very best for fear of doing something wrong. In fact, paying too much attention often leads to poor results, especially when it comes to watering. Once you overwater, it is easy to harm the flowers. Today I will share with you several kinds of potted plants that die easily when overwatered.
1. Snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata)
The snake plant is very drought-tolerant. Generally, watering it two or three times a month is enough. Applying cake fertilizer water or fermented rice-washing water once a month will quickly make it grow into a full pot. Snake plants are quite prone to root rot. Whether it is caused by water accumulating from overwatering or by compacted soil, root rot happens very easily. So if you want to grow snake plants well, while controlling watering, you must also ensure the potting soil is breathable and drains well.
2. Ball cacti, succulents
The native environment of ball cacti and succulents is the desert, so generally it is fine not to water them for one or two months. Usually, just pay attention to controlling watering and give them more sun, and they will very easily grow into a full pot.
3. Money tree (Pachira aquatica)
Most money trees die because of overwatering. Their root system is relatively delicate, and once the potting soil is too wet, root rot occurs very easily. Moreover, when caring for a money tree, you should decide how large a pot to use according to the size of the tree. If the pot is too large, the water added is not easy to evaporate, and it also easily causes root rot.
4. Kalanchoe (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana)
Kalanchoe is also a kind of succulent and is relatively drought-tolerant. Usually, watering once about a week is enough. Once overwatered, root rot occurs easily.
5. Dianthus (Dianthus chinensis)
Among flowering plants, dianthus can be considered super drought-tolerant. Even in summer, watering once every 5-7 days is enough.
There are also many flowers that cannot be overwatered, such as desert rose, Polyscias fruticosa, dragon bone (Euphorbia tirucalli), Schefflera arboricola, carnation, begonia, and so on. So when you buy new flowers, you should look up their habits, and then caring for them will be twice as effective with half the effort.
