Learn these 3 spring pig herd feeding and management methods, and your pig farm will no longer have disease outbreaks!
The weather is gradually warming, and it is a good season for raising pigs. However, as temperatures gradually rise, various pathogens also multiply in large numbers. And after livestock and poultry overwinter, their body's disease resistance weakens. If disinfection is not thorough or management is improper during the feeding process, it can very easily triggerpig diseases, reducing breeding benefits.

I. Repair the pig house and do a good job of disinfection

Keeping the pig house warm, dry and ventilated, doing a good job of pig house hygiene, frequently disinfecting the pig pens, and eliminating the living environment of pathogens are important links in doing a good job of raising pigs in spring. Pigs like a warm and dry environment, especially since piglets' thermoregulatory function is not yet fully developed, they have less subcutaneous fat, and their cold resistance is poor. And recently the weather has been changeable, with large temperature differences between day and night. Therefore, keeping the pig house warm, the environment dry and clean, and the air flowing, and creating a micro-environment conducive to the growth and development of pigs, is especially important.

Especially in northern regions, multiparous sows must give birth in warm housing; this is the foundation for ensuring all piglets survive and are strong. At the same time, before spring arrives, the pig house must be thoroughly disinfected to prevent pathogens from growing and multiplying. The specific method is to first thoroughly clean the pens, then use 20%-30% lime milk or 20% plant ash or a 2%-3% caustic soda solution to spray and brush the pen floors, walls and surrounding environment. After washing the tools clean, disinfect them with 3%-5% Lysol water, then rinse with water.

II. Strengthen epidemic prevention and pay attention to nutrition

In spring, strictly guard against the occurrence of various infectious diseases. Strictly carry out immunization injections for pigs according to the immunization program. Once a disease is found, strictly blockade and disinfect, strengthen preventive injections, and handle dead and diseased pigs according to requirements. If an epidemic occurs in the surrounding area, in addition to doing a good job of disinfecting the pig house, outsiders and vehicles should also be strictly prohibited from entering the pig farm, and your own vehicles and personnel must be thoroughly disinfected after returning from external epidemic areas. At the same time, the level of nutrition also has a major impact on pig health. A high level of nutritional supply can meet the nutritional needs of pigs, ensure that pigs have a relatively good body condition, and can effectively improve pigs' ability to resist disease.

Therefore, in production, pigs should be scientifically fed complete-price daily rations with different nutritional standards according to their different growth stages, and the ration formula should be adjusted in a timely manner according to changes in pig body weight, feed intake, and so on. In spring, green feed is scarce, so as much juicy feed such as carrots as possible should be added to the ration to increase pigs' appetite, and at the same time multiple vitamins, lysine and methionine should be supplemented (such as: Subu).

III. Fine management and scientific feeding

For finishing pigs andbreeding pigs, feeding and management can be carried out according to routine practice, but the feeding and management of piglets must be extremely careful. This is because piglets lack innate immunity, and their thermoregulatory function and digestive function are not fully developed. In spring, when the climate changes easily, the slightest mistake in feeding and management can very easily cause piglets to become ill, or even die in large numbers.

Therefore, the feeding and management of lactating sows should be improved, the cleanliness and hygiene of the udder should be maintained, and the three links of starting feed, supplementary feeding and vigorous feeding should be done well, so that piglets can safely pass the newborn stage, the supplementary feed stage and the weaning stage, and weaned piglets should be given special care. To prevent piglet dysentery, during the sow gestation period, a good job should be done of purifying the sow'spig diseaseviruses, as well as preventive health care work. At the same time, pay attention to the sanitation and cleanliness of the environment after the sow gives birth and to improving the piglets' physique. For pigs at each feeding stage, attention should be paid to feeding complete compound feed, and 7-10 days each month should be supplemented with Baobaole or Subu to improve the pigs' body's non-immunity and resistance. At the same time, provide clean drinking water, sufficient light and appropriate exercise to promote healthy growth of pigs, so that pigs can safely pass through the season of frequent spring diseases.
