Can a Clivia be watered with beer

A Clivia can indeed be watered with beer, and doing so has quite a few benefits, but it should not be done too often - about once a week is enough. Also, wait until its flower scape has grown out before using beer, so that the problem of the scape getting stuck does not occur. It can be diluted and then poured directly.

1. Reasons

Using beer to water a Clivia is undoubtedly feasible, because beer is rich in carbon dioxide, and this substance is essential for most plants; of course, it also contains sugar, phosphates and so on, and these things are greatly beneficial to plant growth.

2. Timing

Although using beer to water plants is very good for them, we should not water too frequently - once a week is enough, and the amount does not need to be large each time; taking an appropriate amount and diluting it with water to 100 ml is just fine. Too frequent watering easily leads to it being over-nourished and developing root rot, the same principle as watering too often.

3. Methods

There are mainly four ways to use beer on the plant, including watering the flowers, spraying the leaves, wiping the leaves and keeping cut flowers.

① Watering the flowers: Using an appropriate amount of beer to water the flowers can make it grow very vigorously, the flowers will be especially brilliant, and it is absorbed very quickly. Generally, mix one part water with fifty parts beer evenly, and then it can be used directly.

② Spraying the leaves: one part water and ten parts beer; after mixing evenly, spray it on the leaves.

③ Wiping the leaves: use absorbent cotton or a relatively clean cloth dipped in the beer, then gently wipe it on the leaves.

④ Cut flowers: pouring one tenth of the beer into the vase can make the flowers look even better, and the viewing time of the flowers will be greatly extended.
