Succulent fertilizing methods, what fertilizer is best

I. Fertilizing time

When fertilizing succulents, the main time period is during their growing season. In addition, when repotting and changing the soil, you can mix in a little fertilizer, which can increase the nutrients in the soil.

II. Types of fertilizer

For topdressing during the growing stage, mainly use compound fertilizer, which can be bought directly from stores; using fertilizer specially made for succulents will give better results. For fertilizer used when planting, you can use solid fertilizer, such as animal manure and so on.

III. Fertilizing methods

1. Overall, succulents do not need a large amount of fertilizer. Too much fertilizer is instead harmful to their growth and will cause root rot. So the fertilizing interval can be longer; once about every month is better. Slow-release fertilizer can be mixed into the soil each time you repot, and repotting can be done once every one or two years.

2. When topdressing is to be used, it must first be diluted with water to lower the concentration, and then applied to the surface of the soil. Solid fertilizer can simply be mixed directly into the soil; be careful that the amount is not too much either.

IV. Precautions

1. If the plant has just been potted or has just been moved to a new environment, it is not suitable for fertilizing; wait until it has adapted to the environment before fertilizing.

2. Furthermore, when the plant is in the seedling stage, it cannot be fertilized. Wait until it is mature, then fertilize.
