Gardenia fertilizing methods, what fertilizer is best

I. Fertilizing time

First, when planting gardenias, using some fertilizer helps their growth. Next, fertilizer is needed during the growth stage, and then during the flowering period, additional fertilizer is needed.

II. Types of fertilizer

The base fertilizer used at planting is generally some solid fertilizer, or a slow-release fertilizer can also be used. The top dressing used during the growth period can be an organic liquid fertilizer, which can be bought directly at a flower shop. Then there is the additional fertilizer used during the flowering period, mainly phosphorus fertilizer, such as monopotassium phosphate.

III. Fertilizing methods

1. Both organic liquid fertilizer and monopotassium phosphate must be added to water and used after dilution; concentrated fertilizer must not be used. When the base fertilizer is used, it needs to be mixed with the soil and then stirred evenly; if it is a slow-release fertilizer, then it can simply be buried into the soil.

2. Fertilizer during the growth period can be applied once a month. The monopotassium phosphate used before the flowering period needs to be applied once a week until flowering, and after the flowering period it can be used once, which is beneficial for subsequent growth.

IV. Points to note

1. One day before fertilizing, it is best to loosen the soil first, so that after fertilizing the next day it can be absorbed better.

2. Specifically, morning or evening is suitable for fertilizing, while noon is not suitable for fertilizing.
