Aloe Vera Fertilizing Methods Explained in Detail: What Fertilizer Is Best
I. Fertilizing Time
Aloe vera is fairly adaptable and does not need much fertilizer, but a moderate amount helps its growth. First, when planting and potting up, apply a moderate amount of base fertilizer. Then, during the normal growing season, you can also apply a suitable amount of top dressing.
II. Types of Fertilizer
The base fertilizer mainly consists of solid materials, such as bone meal, fish meal, and so on. For top dressing, you can use either solid fertilizer or liquid fertilizer, such as compound fertilizer or liquid fertilizer.

III. Fertilizing Methods
1. After preparing the base fertilizer, you can mix it evenly with the growing medium, and then you can plant the aloe. For top dressing, if you use solid fertilizer, you can bury it in the soil at the edge of the pot, not too close to the roots, otherwise it can easily cause root rot. If it is liquid fertilizer, first dilute it with water, then apply it to the soil surface.
2. The interval between fertilizing can be once every 15 days; there is no need to fertilize too frequently.
3. Since aloe vera is a succulent plant, the fertilizer applied should mainly be one containing relatively more phosphorus and potassium, with less nitrogen.
IV. Precautions
Also pay attention to the specific time of fertilizing. Noon is not suitable for fertilizing; it is best to choose the two time periods of early morning and late afternoon.
