Methods to Prevent Yellow Leaves on Clivia

1. Light

Clivia is a semi-shade plant that likes diffused light, but dislikes direct, intense sunlight.

When growing Clivia indoors, make sure there is plenty of light. When light is insufficient, the leaves of Clivia lose their gloss and turn yellow-green and yellow. If this happens to your Clivia, you can supplement the light so it gradually recovers.

Intense light causes Clivia leaves to dry out and become hard, the leaf surface to lose its gloss, and the leaf color to become lighter or yellow. Therefore, in summer when the light is intense, shade work must be done well.

2. Temperature

The suitable temperature for Clivia growth is 15-25 degrees. When the temperature exceeds 30, Clivia growth is inhibited.

When air humidity is below 60%, Clivia leaves will wilt, and the leaf color will become lighter and yellow.

Therefore, under high temperature conditions, do a good job of shading, ventilation and cooling; strengthen routine management, especially fertilizer and water management; in the low-temperature winter, do a good job of insulation to prevent cold damage.

3. Fertilizing

When Clivia grows and develops and when it flowers and sets fruit, it consumes a large amount of nutrients. If at this time the nutrients in the soil cannot meet what Clivia needs for growth, then yellow leaves will appear.

If it is caused by a lack of fertilizer, then apply more decomposed, dilute liquid fertilizer.
