How to root a rootless Clivia miniata in water?

The common water rooting methods for Clivia miniata are mainly the water soaking method, the medicine soaking method, the drying method and the warming method. Among them, the water soaking method is the simplest: cut off the small bulbs around the mother plant, disinfect them, place them in a container filled with clean water, add a little white sugar, and after 24 hours plant them in soil for cuttings.
1. Water soaking method
The water soaking method is the simplest rooting method for Clivia miniata: cut off the small bulbs of the Clivia miniata, first disinfect them once with an appropriate amount of disinfectant, then rinse them once with clean water, being careful not to damage the stem buds, place them in a container filled with clean water, add a little white sugar, and after 24 hours plant them in soil for cuttings; they will root in about half a month.
2. Medicine soaking method
Water rooting is a common cultivation method for Clivia miniata. Generally, a suitable plant is selected first, the selected bulbs are placed in a bottle filled with water, an appropriate amount of boiled water is used to fully dilute vitamin B12 injection, then a small amount is added to the bottle, and after 5 to 10 minutes they are taken out for planting, which can speed up the rooting time.
3. Drying method If it is for a rootless Clivia miniata, it is best to place the selected divided stems in a cool, ventilated environment to dry for 5 to 6 hours, then after the wounds are dry place them in a breathable flower pot, pour in an appropriate amount of water, and then use tap water that has been left to stand for a day and a night after being exposed to the sun. During the rooting period, be sure not to change the water; you should wait until the water slowly evaporates completely before adding more water.
4. Warming method
Generally, during the rooting period of Clivia miniata, the temperature should be 3 to 5°C higher than the water temperature. Using the warming method can effectively speed up the rooting time of the plant. If the water temperature of the cultivation substrate is too low, it can be placed on an electric blanket or on a heater with a thin board, which can effectively promote the rise of the water temperature.
