Clivia Soil Mix Recipe: How to Prepare the Most Suitable Soil for Planting
Clivia is currently one of the most popular flowering plant varieties, with leaves shaped like green swords, handsome and upright, and when it blooms it is elegant and noble, highly ornamental. The soil requirements for caring for Clivia are: loose and breathable, not compacted and not waterlogged, high drainage, good moisture retention, and slightly acidic soil with nutrients. It should also contain mineral trace elements. When I care for Clivia, I always mix the soil myself.
The nutrient soil mainly consists of humus soil and leaf mold. The loose and breathable component is mainly perlite. The soil-improving components are mainly rust sand and freshwater river sand. The base soil is garden soil.
A single type of soil cannot meet the requirements for caring for Clivia, so it can only be prepared in the form of a mixed soil (humus soil + garden soil + rust sand) mixed together in equal thirds, then add one part perlite to increase breathability. When planting, place crushed red clay brick pieces at the bottom of the flower pot to facilitate drainage and breathability.
Summary: The new mix has all the advantages for growing Clivia. Loose and breathable, long-lasting nutrients, mild fertility. With the effect of rust sand, the soil does not compact and has strong drainage.
