What Should You Do When Clivia Side Leaves Rot?

When Clivia side leaves rot, stop watering immediately and follow the principle of watering only when the soil is dry; a temperature of 27°C can also cause leaves to rot, so the growing temperature should be kept between 15-25°C; keep the planting soil humidity at around 60% to avoid excessive moisture causing leaf rot; when fertilizing, follow the principle of light and frequent feeding, applying diluted fertilizer to avoid high concentration causing leaf rot.

1. Reasonable Watering

When many people ask about this, the first thing to consider is watering. Overwatering causes waterlogging, which leads to root rot and the symptom of side leaves rotting. Follow the principle of watering only when the soil is dry: water once a day in spring, 1-2 times a day in summer, once every 1-2 days in autumn, and once every 7 days in winter, keeping the soil surface slightly moist.

2. Avoid Light Exposure

The temperature suitable for Clivia growth needs to be between 15-25°C. When the temperature is above 27°C, the plant's roots will rot, so the side leaves do not get enough nutrients to grow, causing the Clivia leaves to turn yellow and rot.

3. Control Humidity

When caring for Clivia, keep the humidity in the planting soil at around 60%. When humidity reaches 65%, the plant's roots will rot, causing the side leaves to rot. You can also use 0.1% carbendazim or thiophanate-methyl and spray once every 10 days until cured.

4. Reasonable Fertilizing

When fertilizing, follow the principle of light and frequent feeding to avoid excessively high fertilizer concentration, which causes mold infection and leads to branches and leaves rotting. During the growing season, apply fertilizer once every 10-16 days; during routine care, apply fertilizer once every 1-2 months.
