How to care for white orchid (Michelia alba) in autumn? Care tips and precautions

When growing white orchid in autumn, sufficient light can help it grow, and light should be maintained at around six hours. Its flowering period is from May to October, and during this time it needs to be pinched back frequently to avoid dispersing nutrients. Autumn temperatures are also quite warm, so it needs moderate watering. Attention also needs to be paid to supplementing nutrients.
1. Light
It is a sun-loving plant, and sufficient light can help it grow. In autumn, it needs to be placed in a spot where sunlight can reach it, and the daily light duration must not be less than 6 hours. If grown in a shady place, it will affect its flowering and cause thin, elongated, and dry branches and leaves.
2. Pinching back
Autumn is the peak flowering period, and sufficient nutrients need to be ensured. To make nutrients more concentrated, it needs to be pinched back, that is, pruning off the top branches so that nutrients are concentrated and supplied to the flowering branches.
3. Watering
Its roots are fleshy roots, afraid of both drought and waterlogging, so autumn watering should follow watering principles. Before watering, first observe the state of its soil. If the soil is completely dry, it needs watering. The amount of water must not be too much; watering until the soil is completely moist is enough.
4. Supplementing nutrients
The flowering period consumes relatively large amounts of nutrients, and relying only on the nutrients in the soil makes it difficult to meet its needs, so fertilization is required. Fertilization is mainly foliar feeding, and the fertilizer used should preferably contain nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. These three elements are essential nutrients during the plant's growth process, and supplementing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium during the flowering period can enhance the flowering effect.
