Little-known tips to keep pothos and clivia green and glossy for the long term

Clivia, spider plants and pothos are all very common houseplants in our homes; basically anyone who loves flowers will keep a few pots of them. These plants are very easy to keep alive, but truly keeping them thriving is not easy at all. Other people's plants always seem able to stay green and glossy for the long term.

In fact, keeping plants green and glossy in good condition for the long term is not complicated; a few casual actions can do it, and you can try them in daily life.

Put a few cigarette butts in the flowerpot: remove the filter tip and paper, use only the tobacco inside, put it in a container, preferably a larger amount, then add water and soak for a few days. Filter it once, pour the filtered water into a watering can, and spray it on the branches and leaves of your flowers, plants or bonsai plants; it can do a good job of preventing pests and diseases.

Put some dried orange peel in the flowerpot: it removes odors and prevents insects, but do not use too much, 5-6 pieces per pot. Collect dried orange peel and soak it for a few days, and it becomes a good flower fertilizer containing multiple trace elements. The method is very easy: cut one or two liang of orange peel into one-cun sections, then soak them in 10 jin of hot water at about 40°C to 45°C; after soaking for one week, the orange peel liquid can be used as flower fertilizer.

About wiping leaves: many friends have heard that wiping leaves with beer works very well, and indeed, in a short time it can make the leaves very glossy, but from a long-term perspective, wiping leaves with beer is not advisable; after the substances in beer dry, they hinder the leaves from breathing. It is best to wipe with mineral water or distilled water, or if you are lazy, just use clean water; in summer you can spray water on the leaves more often to keep them moist.
