How to make a white magnolia (Michelia alba) have lush leaves and abundant flowers

① It is best to choose leaf mold or peat soil mixed with 1/5 perlite and river sand, and add a small amount of bone meal and other organic fertilizer as a base fertilizer.

② The potting soil should always be kept moist. In spring and autumn, water once every 2-3 days; in summer, water once in the morning and once in the evening. Also frequently spray water on the branches, leaves and the ground around the pot to increase humidity and lower temperature.

③ It is best to place it in a wind-sheltered, sunny spot for care, and shade it around midday in midsummer.

④ During the peak growing season (May-September), apply a dilute liquid fertilizer once every 1-2 weeks.

⑤ In winter, the room temperature must not be lower than 5°C. Pay attention to proper ventilation, and also frequently wash the branches and leaves with warm water to keep the leaf surfaces clean and moist.

⑥ Repot every 1-2 years in early spring, and prune away dead, weak, diseased and pest-infested branches to encourage more new branches.
