Cultivation methods and precautions for potted Clivia

Temperature: best between 15-25°C, growth stops below 5°C. Water: when watering, check how dry the soil is; in cold weather water once every 3-5 days, in warm weather once every 1-2 days. Light: in summer generally 3-5 hours in the light, and it must not be exposed to strong sunlight. Fertilizer: in spring and autumn apply once every other month.

I. Cultivation methods

1. Water: it is fairly drought-tolerant, so there is no need to water too frequently; when watering, check how dry the potting soil is. In cold weather generally water again after 3-5 days, in warm weather water once every 1-2 days.

2. Temperature: best between 15-25°C; it likes partial shade. When summer temperatures are high, pay attention to shading; if not shaded, the leaves will grow long and narrow, which seriously affects its appearance. Below 5°C it will stop growing.

3. Fertilizer: it is a fertilizer-loving plant, but you cannot fertilize at random. In spring and autumn generally applying once a month is enough, and in winter and summer there is no need to apply any.

4. Light: it likes half shade and half sun. In summer generally 3-5 hours of sun a day is enough, but it must not be exposed to strong sunlight, as this is bad for the plant.

II. Precautions

The flowering period of Clivia is in January-February; in summer it cannot produce good flowers, so they should be cut off in time, otherwise they will consume nutrients.
