What to do if the leaves of your clivia grow crooked? Practical straightening methods to share
Plants definitely need sunlight to grow. Even shade-loving plants still need to be placed in the sun when you care for them. Huahua thinks sun-loving plants do better with more sunlight, while shade-loving plants can get by with less sunlight and it will not be a problem; instead, it will promote their growth. The leaves of clivia should always be neat and orderly, but if you find that they have grown rather crooked, what should you do?
First, Huahua will explain to everyone what causes the crooked growth. The main reason is uneven light: one half gets sun and the other half does not. This causes the parts of the plant that receive more sunlight to grow faster, while the leaves that do not get sunlight grow more slowly. This makes them grow crooked and uneven.
After discovering this problem, we should promptly turn the half of the leaves that are growing slowly toward the place with more sunlight, and turn the leaves that are growing fast toward the place with less sunlight. Then, once the leaves have grown symmetrically, you can adjust the position again. Generally, rotating the flower pot about once every half a month or once a week will help it grow into a better shape, and the crooked growth will no longer occur.
Besides rotating the flower pot, we can also use a little trick to solve the problem of crooked growth. Here you will need aluminum foil. Fold the aluminum foil and use it to cover the leaves of the clivia so that light cannot pass through. This way, the covered leaves will grow slowly, and you can wait until the slower-growing leaves and the leaves on both sides have grown about the same, then remove the aluminum foil.
