Year-Round Care Methods for Tillandsia

To grow Tillandsia well, it must be carefully tended and cared for throughout all four seasons, and only then will it bloom better. Below is a summary of the care methods and points to note for Tillandsia in different seasons.

Four-Season Care Methods for Tillandsia

1. Spring Care Methods

In spring, once the temperature is stable above 15°C, Tillandsia can be repotted and divided.

Generally, potted Tillandsia should be placed in a spot with morning and evening light for care. The potting soil should be kept moist, but not too wet, and the leaves and surroundings should be misted often to increase air humidity. Spring is also the peak growing season for Tillandsia, so fertilizer must be supplied in time.

2. Summer Care Methods

In summer, Tillandsia should be placed in a bright spot or under partial light, with appropriate shading to prevent exposure to strong sunlight. Carry out normal water and fertilizer management, and increase the frequency of misting and sprinkling.

3. Autumn Care Methods

After the temperature drops, keep the indoor temperature at around 20°C, pay attention to water and fertilizer management, and ensure sufficient light. If the indoor temperature is lower in late autumn, ensure sufficient light, reduce the frequency of watering, let the potting soil stay on the dry side, and stop fertilizing at the same time.

4. Winter Care Methods

Winter is the ornamental period for the Tillandsia inflorescence. If the Tillandsia inflorescence has fully grown out, it can be placed in a slightly cooler spot indoors. Keep the indoor temperature at around 10°C, with bright indoor light and the potting soil moist but slightly dry. When the temperature is higher, mist the leaves and surroundings several times to increase air humidity.
