What is the difference between wild mint and mint? With mint pictures
1. Different strength of effects
There is not much difference between wild mint and mint, especially in appearance. However, they can be distinguished by their effects. Wild mint has stronger medicinal effects and higher medicinal value. Wild mint can disperse wind-heat, promote eruption and relieve itching, relieve summerheat and resolve dampness, and can also treat wind-heat common cold and sore swollen throat. Although mint also has similar effects in traditional Chinese medicine, its effects are not as strong as those of wild mint.

2. Different growing environments
Wild mint grows in mountains and fields, likes a sunny, moist and warm growing environment, and can endure harsh conditions. Mint, on the other hand, likes to grow in environments between 25°C and 30°C, and prefers a warm and relatively dry environment. It is not tolerant of waterlogging; if waterlogging is severe, it will affect growth. And at temperatures above 30°C, its growth will also become slow.
3. Different taste
The difference between wild mint and mint can also be distinguished by taste. Among them, wild mint has a more fragrant taste, and the whole plant has a fresh scent. It usually blooms between July and September each year. But if it is mint grown at home, the taste is much milder and not as pleasant as the smell of wild mint. Therefore, if you want to use it for drinks or to pair with alcohol, using wild mint will give a better effect.
