Clivia and kalanchoe: pull off a leaf, toss it in soil, and big white roots will sprout like crazy

Chinese New Year is almost here, and recently Huahua has spent no small amount of money on buying flowers. Seeing the wallet getting thinner and thinner, what to do? Better to... pull off a leaf and take cuttings, grow one pot into a hundred pots, use flowers to raise flowers, and step onto the broad road to prosperity.

Snap off clivia leaves and bury them in soil: in half a year, 1 pot becomes 10 pots

1. Prepare a clivia plant, and snap the leaves off from bottom to top (be sure to keep the white part); before taking cuttings, you can soak them in a rooting powder solution.

2. Then insert the clivia leaves into the nutrient cups we have prepared; the substrate can be nutrient soil or vermiculite.

3. Place the inserted clivia in a tray and use the bottom-watering method to replenish water for the plant; usually new roots can grow in 30 days.

4. Once the clivia has rooted, we can find a large flower pot to plant it; the soil can be a 1:1 mix of pine needle soil and sand and gravel. (It is best to plant it at a slant to help it sprout)

5. Normally, you can push the soil aside with your hand; when the substrate inside feels dry, soak the pot for 30 minutes. With careful care, it can force out new buds in as fast as 3 months or as slow as more than half a year.

6. If the plant still has not forced out new buds for a long time, we can cut a small slit with a knife on the inner side of the leaf close to the soil, apply vitamin B6 injection, and induce it to sprout.

Pull off kalanchoe leaves and bury them in soil: new buds can sprout in 1 month

1. When leaf-propagating kalanchoe, it is best to choose leaves with obvious growth points, and when snapping off the leaves, carry as much stem tissue as possible at the petiole, so it is easier to grow buds.

2. Leave the snapped-off leaves in a bright, ventilated place, and after 2 hours, once the wounds have dried, hold the leaf and insert the petiole into the soil at a slant. (It is best to keep the front of the leaf facing up)

3. After inserting, use the bottom-watering method to replenish water for the plant until the soil surface is moist, then place it in a ventilated place not exposed to direct sunlight for care.

4. Normally, when the soil surface looks pale, water thoroughly once; usually new roots can grow in 10 days, and small buds can emerge in 30 days.

5. After budding, transplant the kalanchoe into seedling cups or small flower pots, and gradually increase the light intensity until the young seedlings can take full-day sunlight.

6. When the young seedlings grow to four pairs of leaves, pinch off the top 2 pairs of leaves; when the side branches grow four pairs of leaves, pinch again, and repeat 3 times to get abundant flowers and lush leaves.

Cut snake plant into sections and toss them in water: grow a large pot in 3 months

1. Choose a robust snake plant leaf, use a sharp pair of scissors (disinfect with alcohol before use), and cut the snake plant into several small sections (length above 5cm).

2. Place the cut snake plant leaf sections in a bright, ventilated place to dry for half a day, and only after the wounds have air-dried should you water-propagate them, otherwise they are very likely to be infected by pathogens~

3. Insert the dried snake plant sections vertically into water, with the water depth at 3~5cm; be careful not to insert them upside down, otherwise they cannot root.

4. In the early stage of water propagation, place them in a bright spot, change the sun-aerated tap water once every 4~5 days on average, and new roots can grow in about 10 days.

5. One month after water propagation, when we observe that the snake plant has many roots, we can add 1 drop of nutrient solution when changing the water, and new buds can emerge in about 2 months.

6. When the snake plant seedlings grow to 10cm, they can be taken out and planted in soil; when transplanting, we can continue to keep the mother leaf or snap the mother leaf off.

7. After transplanting, water once to settle the roots, and place it in a bright, ventilated place to recover; if the seedlings have not gone soft after a week, they can be cared for normally.
