How to handle the flower stem of a clivia after it blooms

The flowers that clivia produces are bright and beautiful, so what can we do? We can cut off the stem of the clivia, disinfect the cut, give it plenty of sunlight, water the clivia an appropriate amount, and stop fertilizing to prevent the cut from rotting. You can also keep the stem of the clivia and collect the clivia's seeds.
1. Proper pruning
The stem of a clivia after blooming absorbs a large amount of nutrients from the soil. We can cut off the stem of the clivia, preferably pruning close to the base, which can reduce the absorption of soil nutrients and encourage beautiful clivias to bloom again the following year.
2. Disinfection treatment. After the clivia is pruned, its cut is easily infected by bacteria, causing the clivia to suffer from diseases, so the cut of the clivia needs to be disinfected promptly. Applying gibberellin or charcoal powder to the cut to disinfect it is enough.
3. Plenty of sunlight
In addition to disinfecting the cut, the clivia also needs to be placed in plenty of sunlight and cared for carefully. With the help of sunlight, the wound on the stem can heal quickly, preventing pests and diseases, and it also benefits the growth of the clivia and increases the clivia's ornamental value.
4. Watering an appropriate amount. Clivia likes to grow in moist soil. After the clivia blooms and is pruned, it should also be watered an appropriate amount to ensure the soil promptly provides water to the clivia, but it should not be watered too much, as this can easily cause the wound on the stem to rot and may cause the clivia to wither and die.
5. Stop fertilizing
Clivia has a high demand for nutrients, but after blooming and pruning, do not fertilize the clivia, as this can easily cause the cut to be infected by bacteria, leading to wound rot, affecting the clivia's natural growth and also reducing the clivia's ornamental value.
6. Collecting seeds. Clivia can bloom all year round, though the flowering period is mainly in spring and autumn. Whenever the clivia has bloomed, we can also keep the stem of the clivia, collect the clivia's seeds, place the seeds in a cool, ventilated place for 10-15 days, then peel them and plant them in soil.
