How to care for clivia in summer? Master these care methods

Must pay attention to: ① Cooling and shading. When the summer temperature is above 28°C, clivia (Clivia miniata) will enter a semi-dormant or dormant state. During this stage, the ideal approach is to place it in an air-conditioned room for growing. If air conditioning is not available, it is best to place the clivia in a cool, ventilated spot indoors, spray water on the leaves 3~4 times a day, and water thoroughly once every 3~5 days. For open-ground cultivation, a shade shed should be set up so that it receives scattered light. While shading, pay attention to ventilation and increasing environmental humidity; spray clean water on the leaves every morning and evening, and also splash water on the surrounding ground to achieve the purpose of cooling and maintaining moisture.
② Appropriate water and fertilizer. In hot weather, clivia grows slowly or stalls, and it absorbs relatively little water itself, but the leaf surface evaporates a lot, so watering should be moderate and not excessive, otherwise it will cause water accumulation in the pot and lead to root rot. When the ambient temperature drops below 25°C, a relatively dilute liquid fertilizer (1:30) can be applied once every half a month, which can promote the growth of clivia, keeping it from going dormant or shortening the dormant period.
