How often should you water orchids? Master the correct watering method

Orchids are generally watered once every 3 days in spring, and the water used is best alkaline; in summer they are generally watered 1 to 2 times a day, following the principle of watering frequently and in small amounts; in autumn orchids are watered once a week, and orchids grown outdoors also need good waterlogging prevention; in winter orchids have little demand for water and are usually watered once every half a month.
1. Watering in spring
Orchids need different watering frequencies in different seasons; spring is the plant's growing season, when the demand for water is great, so they are generally watered once every 3 days, and the water is best alkaline, which is more conducive to the plant's absorption. When watering, do not pour it directly on the leaves, to avoid bacterial growth.
2. Watering in summer
In summer the air is hot and stuffy, and the water in the plant body evaporates quickly, so watering should be frequent, generally 1 to 2 times a day. When the temperature reaches 40°C, watering about three times a day is needed to ensure sufficient water in the soil; do not water too much, to prevent water accumulation in the soil, and just moistening the soil surface is enough.
3. Watering in autumn
Autumn has abundant rain and high air humidity, so watering is about once a week; if the plant is kept outdoors, a tent needs to be set up promptly on rainy days, and the soil needs good waterlogging prevention, with the soil loosened appropriately to let the orchid's roots breathe.
4. Watering in winter
In winter, the orchid's root system is in a semi-closed state, the plant has little demand for water, and the roots' ability to absorb water is not strong either, so it is usually watered once every half a month; pay attention to the wet and dry condition of the soil, and the best time to water is when the soil is slightly dry and has cracks, as you can water the plant along the cracks.
