How to grow orchids so they bloom more? These tips you need to know
If you want orchids to bloom more, pay attention to: first, temperature - the daytime temperature should be 18~21°C, and the nighttime temperature should be 7~10°C. Second, watering amount - do not give too much water, and do not let them become short of water either. Third, light - give them 2-3 hours of light every day, and when flower buds first appear, reduce the light intensity. Fourth, drug stimulation - you can spray the flower buds with Huaduo Zhuangdiling.
Control the temperature
To encourage orchids to bloom more, increase the day-night temperature difference and keep it at around 10°C. That is, keep the daytime temperature between 18~21°C, and the nighttime temperature at 7~10°C is best.
Note: if the nighttime temperature is high, orchids will have soft leaves and shed flower buds, while if the temperature is too low, it will cause blind buds, and spots will also grow on the leaves. So controlling the temperature well is the key to blooming more.
Control the watering amount
The amount of watering is also a main condition affecting orchid flowering. Too much water will cause excessive vegetative growth, and the flower buds will grow poorly. Lack of water will cause the phenomenon of buds being trapped in the bracts.
Control the light
Light is the main reason for promoting orchid plants to develop flower buds. With different light intensities, the flowering effect of orchids differs greatly. In general, during the flower bud formation stage, place the orchid plant under bright light, and when it blooms, the red, dark red, and yellow colors will deepen. And when flower buds first appear, reduce the light intensity as soon as possible to ensure the flower colors are more elegant and simple; after flowering is finished, give more light again.
Generally orchids need 2 to 3 hours of light. If the leaves are soft and moist and medium green, it indicates the light is normal. If the leaves are dark green and soft, it indicates light needs to be increased; if the leaves are pale yellow, it indicates light needs to be reduced.
Drug stimulation
During the orchid growth period, strengthen management and spray the flower buds with Huaduo Zhuangdiling, which can promote strong flower buds, plump petals, vivid flower colors, rich floral fragrance, and a longer flowering period. However, ordinary home cultivation is not recommended to use this quick-result method; it is better to wait for it to bloom naturally.
