How often to water orchids kept indoors

When growing orchids, watering should be done according to actual conditions and seasonal changes. In spring, water once every 2 to 3 days; in summer, water once a day; in autumn, water once a day as well; in winter, watering once every 4 to 5 days is enough, to avoid waterlogging that could affect orchid growth.
Water orchids once every 2 to 3 days in spring
When many people ask about this, the answer is that water should be applied according to the season. Spring is when orchid new shoots sprout, so from March to April, water once every 2 to 3 days, preferably around 10 a.m., which helps the orchid roots absorb the water needed for growth and avoids water temperatures that are too low affecting root development.
Water once a day in summer
In summer, from May to August, water once a day, because this period is the orchid's growth period, when water demand is high; timely water replenishment can promote faster orchid growth. When watering, it is best to water in the early morning each day, to avoid water transpiration caused by rising daytime temperatures, which can lead to root rot and affect growth.
Water once every evening in autumn
In autumn, from September to November, water once a day as well, but when replenishing water, do so according to the actual soil conditions. When the soil color becomes lighter and the soil hardens, water should be replenished. Pay attention to the effects of rainy days on orchids, to avoid root and bud sheath rot. Watering can be done every evening to promote root development.
Water once every 4 to 5 days in winter
From December in winter to February of the following year, water orchids once every 4 to 5 days, because winter is the orchid's dormant period. When the growing soil is too moist, freezing damage can occur, but the soil should not be too dry either; ensure that the soil moisture content is between 15 and 20%, to avoid orchid wilting caused by lack of water.
