What to pay attention to when growing variegated clivia indoors

There are a great many varieties of clivia, and gardening enthusiasts will always keep one pot of clivia; placing it indoors is very good, and its flowering performance is also very strong, with dark leaf color and an attractive leaf shape.

Clivia varieties are divided into different varieties according to flower color, and there are also those whose leaves have mutated to become variegated clivia, carrying two colors; they are all classified under the variegated clivia strain. Variegated clivia care requires special attention, because its leaves carry other colors, so the chlorophyll content is relatively lower, and its growth is somewhat slower than that of green-leaved plants.

When growing variegated clivia, remember one thing: it must not be exposed to blazing sun. No matter the season, avoid the strong midday light as much as possible, because its leaves carry other colors and have less chlorophyll, and the leaves of other colors are prone to sunburn after exposure to strong light, so you must be careful not to let it be exposed to blazing sun. You can choose to avoid the midday light and let it receive light at other times.

Variegated clivia is quite suitable for growing indoors; a spot with bright indoor light or scattered light suits it very well. When growing variegated clivia, be sure to note that with poor ventilation, root rot easily occurs after watering, especially when the humidity is too high and the humidity rises onto its leaves, the parts that are not green leaves are very prone to rotting. With good ventilation, after watering the humidity is not too high, its leaves can grow quickly and will not develop rotten leaves. The soil mix must be a loose, breathable soil; this is the key to growing clivia well and variegated clivia well, and waterlogged soil will prevent any plant from growing well.

Compared with ordinary clivia, growing variegated clivia only requires doing one thing well: do not give it too strong light; everything else is the same as ordinary clivia care. Mix a loose, breathable soil, fertilize it regularly, do not let it lack water, and ensure sufficient light, and it will grow very well.

Variegated clivia is Xiao Qi's favorite variety, and in the early days there were also several of these variegated clivia; if you saw them, you would certainly like variegated clivia too, but their price is relatively high, and especially if their variegated leaves are very good and very uniform, the price will be even higher.
