The "three-bath" cultivation method: give your orchids a bath

Growing orchids at home is limited by many conditions, and it is difficult to maintain the orchid's original ecological environment, which affects normal growth. Next, the editor will introduce three "bathing methods" for orchids to create a microclimate suitable for orchid growth.

Orchid bathing

Bathing means giving the orchid a wash. In fact, the invisible leaves are covered with dust, which comes from floating particles in the air, residual chemicals after spraying, and so on. This dust not only affects the ornamental value of the orchid, but also hinders normal leaf respiration and affects photosynthesis. If the pollution is severe, it may also induce various diseases.

In fact, the bathing method for orchids is very simple; you only need a basin of water and a writing brush or soft-bristled brush. Cut off the tip of the writing brush, dip it in a small amount of water, hold the brush with one hand and gently scrub upward from the base of the leaf, while using the other hand to support the back of the orchid leaf. Wash repeatedly twice, then rinse the brush clean and clean the back of the leaf in the same way.

Bathe orchids once a month. When scrubbing, be careful not to use too much force with both hands, so as not to break the orchid leaves.

Orchid wind bathing

If orchids are to grow well, ventilation is very important. Wind can bring fresh air and meet the growth needs of this beauty of the empty valley; wind can take away heat, especially in summer, allowing orchids to pass through summer smoothly; wind can also effectively reduce the occurrence of pests and diseases.

For example, if you live on the third floor, and the sun is strong during the day, you cannot place the orchids outdoors because there is no way to shade them. It does not matter. During the day, place the orchids on an indoor balcony or at a ventilated window, and at night move them outdoors to receive dew and wind.

Orchid sunbathing

All things grow by the sun, and a certain amount of sunbathing can promote orchid growth.

In summer, give orchids 1-2 hours of light, then shade them; in autumn, when the highest temperature is below 15°C, you can leave off the curtain and let them receive direct sunlight all day; in spring, as the temperature rises, gradually increase the amount of light. In addition, fluorescent lamps can also be used for artificial sunbathing.
