How to Repot a Clivia? A Detailed Guide to the Correct Method

II. How to Repot a Clivia
The root system of the clivia grows very quickly, so it needs to be repotted every year; otherwise, the plant cannot absorb enough nutrients and will not be able to grow normally.
1. Removing the plant from the pot and shaking off the soil
Only when the ambient temperature is above 15°C can you repot the clivia. Do not forget to stop watering 3-5 days before repotting, and then you can simply lift the roots out.
2. Pruning the root system
Trim off some of the old roots and fine roots, but never damage the main roots, otherwise the healthy growth of the plant will be affected.
3. Preparing the new soil
After removing the old soil, replace it with nutrient-rich new soil. First spread a layer of pine needle soil on the bottom of the pot, then add some sunflower seed shells, layering them alternately with garden soil, and finally top it off with garden soil. Once the soil is prepared, plant the clivia in it; firm the soil down and water it thoroughly.
4. Recovery after repotting
After repotting, place the clivia in a cool, well-ventilated spot and keep the temperature at 15-25°C. Do not water and do not fertilize. Leave it like this for a week so the plant can slowly adapt to the new potting soil.
Now everyone knows how to repot a plant, right? As long as you pay attention to these key points, your plants will grow more and more vigorously after repotting.
