What are the "four things to beware of" in the four-season care of clivia?

1. In spring, beware of wind. In early spring, after winter dormancy, the clivia has just revived. If it is placed in a windy outdoor spot at this time, the water supply between the roots and leaves will fail to meet demand, causing dehydration, which reduces the glossiness of the leaves and, in severe cases, causes yellow or rotten leaves. Therefore, after being moved outdoors in early April, it should be placed in a wind-sheltered spot, and watering should be moderate.

2. In summer, beware of sun exposure. If clivia is exposed to strong sunlight in summer, and watering is not well controlled, the leaf edges will wither and turn yellow, droop and wilt, or root rot may occur. Therefore, in summer, clivia should be placed where it can receive light in the morning and evening, and moved to a shaded spot at other times; at the same time, spray water on the ground to lower the temperature and maintain humidity.

3. In autumn, beware of rain. Continuous autumn rain or watering directly onto the plant can easily cause heart rot and root rot. Therefore, avoid rain and watering directly onto the branches and leaves.

4. In winter, beware of dry cold. If the overwintering temperature for clivia is below 5°C, the soil moisture content is less than 20{bf}, and the air is also very dry, it is prone to frost damage and death. Therefore, in the severe cold season, it should be moved indoors and placed in a slightly sunny, ventilated spot. Keep the day and night temperature at 5~15°C, the air humidity at 60{bf}~70{bf}, and the soil moisture content in the pot at about 5{bf}. Every 5~7 days, spray and wash the leaves once with clean water close to room temperature, so that it can fully enter dormancy.
