One snip of the clivia, one pot becomes many pots, the method works very well

The clivia has sword-like broad, thick, glossy green leaves; its flowers bloom upright like fire, red and green setting each other off beautifully, making it an ideal potted flower for beautifying the home. How does the clivia propagate? Below is an introduction to the clivia division propagation method.

Clivia division propagation method

① Generally, division propagation is done in April after the mother plant's flowers fade, and in September to October when repotting and changing the soil.

② After new shoots grow from the root crown of the clivia, new roots and several leaves will grow on the mother plant; only then should division be carried out.

③ Select new shoots on the mother plant that have 6 to 7 leaves and a length of 15cm.

④ Cut the new shoot away from the mother plant with a knife at the point of attachment, being careful not to harm the mother plant.

⑤ Clean off the soil and remove old roots and diseased, rotted roots; the cut-off new shoot can now serve as a new seedling.
