Can a Clivia with root rot still be saved

Whether a Clivia with root rot can still sprout depends on how severe it is. If the rot is not very serious and remedial measures are taken in time, the plant can still survive. If the root rot is very severe, the chances of saving it are much smaller. For mild root rot, you only need to remove the rotted parts and blot up the excess water. For severe root rot, you need to remove the leaves on one side, control watering, and then replant it.

I. Will it still sprout

Root rot in Clivia is mainly caused by improper watering. Whether it can still sprout after root rot depends on how severe it is. If the rot is not very serious, as long as remedial measures are taken in time, the plant can still survive, and with good care afterward it will sprout. If the root rot is already very severe, the chances of saving it are much smaller, but it is not completely impossible; in this case the methods used are also different.

II. How to save it

1. Mild root rot: If only the central part of the core is rotting and the situation is not very serious, you can use a sterilized blade to remove the necrotic part, then move it to a cool, well-ventilated place, do not water it from the top, and let the potting soil gradually dry out; after some time the situation will improve. If the root rot is not serious and only the leaves on both sides are rotting, then you should cut off the rotted leaves, use clean toilet paper to blot up the excess water, place it in a dry environment, and wait until the middle part dries thoroughly before resuming normal care; new shoots will grow after some time.

2. Severe root rot: If the root rot is relatively severe, you need to remove the leaves on the side with fewer leaves, expose the rotting bulb, and gradually pick it out. Control watering for 2-3 days, after which it can be replanted.
