How to shape a clivia: six methods to make it upright and beautiful

For a clivia whose leaves have become deformed, what is the best way to shape it? You can choose to rotate the flower pot so that its leaves are symmetrical, or wrap the leaves in tin foil for shaping, or insert curved bamboo strips and aluminum wire so that the leaves grow along the shaping, or provide shade so that the deformed leaves receive light and grow back to normal, or use a special leaf holder to stop the clivia's leaves from bending, and you can also directly slip a piece of cardboard over the leaves to hold them in place so they grow upright and beautiful.

1. Pot rotation shaping

The simplest way to shape a clivia is pot rotation shaping. Keep it in the sun for care, and rotate the pot in which the clivia is planted once a week, so that the clivia's leaves can evenly receive light and grow well, making its leaves symmetrical and beautiful overall.

2. Tin foil shaping

You can also use the clamping method to shape a clivia. After noticing that the clivia's leaves have begun to bend and look unattractive, cut tin foil to a size that can wrap the clivia's leaves, then place it on the leaves and fasten the tin foil tightly with a paper clip, so that the leaves slowly return to normal.

3. Curved bow shaping

After the clivia's leaves become deformed, you can also use bamboo strips and aluminum wire for curved bow shaping. Bend the bamboo strips and aluminum wire into a curve similar to that of the clivia's leaves, then insert them at the bottom and above each leaf, so that the leaves slowly change from their deformed state within the curved bow clamp.

4. Shade shaping

If the clivia's young leaves have become deformed and crooked, you can use shade for shaping. Slip an opaque piece of cardboard over the clivia plant to provide shade, allowing only its bent leaves to receive light; in this way, you can use its phototropism to let the clivia's leaves slowly grow into the desired shape.

5. Leaf holder shaping

Among the ways to shape a clivia, there is also a relatively simple, convenient and very easy-to-succeed method, which is to use a special clivia leaf holder. Clip it onto the clivia's deformed leaves, so that the leaves grow along the shaping direction of the leaf holder, thereby making them upright and beautiful.

6. Cardboard sleeve shaping

In everyday life, cut kraft paper or slightly stiff cardboard into a splint slightly larger than the clivia's leaves. Then slip the splint over the clivia's deformed leaves, so that its leaves can only grow fixed within the splint, and the clivia's deformed leaves will then be corrected to a normal shape.
