What should be done to make magnolia flowers bloom early?

The flower bud differentiation of magnolia occurs between May and June of the previous year, and it blooms in early spring of the second year. Therefore, to make magnolia flowers bloom early, the following methods must be adopted:

① Heating. This method is suitable for potted magnolias and magnolias grown in protected cultivation. Subject the dormant magnolia to appropriate heating to force flowering, keeping the temperature at around 20°C; it will generally bloom after 5-6 weeks. With this method, magnolias can be made to bloom at New Year's Day and Spring Festival.

② Leaf removal. This is suitable for field-grown and potted magnolias. Removing all the leaves of the magnolia between July and August can make it bloom early, in October of the same year; if the temperature is stable, by calculating the timing of leaf removal well, it can be made to bloom precisely at National Day. In addition, placing a potted magnolia in a low-temperature room at around 5°C in February before it sprouts, and then moving it to a cool outdoor spot in early June, can delay the flowering period so that it blooms on "July 1".
