Why do the leaf edges of clivias scorch and wither?

Causes of scorched and withered leaf edges in clivias:

In summer, when the weather is hot, potted clivias in the home often develop scorched, withered leaf edges. This is mainly caused by high temperatures, strong light, dry air, and muggy, poorly ventilated conditions. In addition, although some clivias are placed in a cool, ventilated, shaded spot, improper preparation of the potting soil, or the use of unfermented horse manure, can also cause scorched leaf edges. Also, applying unfermented, undecomposed organic fertilizer at the bottom of the pot easily breeds white thread nematodes, which cause the leaves or their edges to scorch and wither.

Remedial measures for scorched and withered leaf edges in clivias:

① If the placement environment is unsuitable, simply move the pot to a cool, ventilated, shaded spot.

② If the cause is improper potting soil preparation or the use of unfermented organic fertilizer at the bottom of the pot, dig out the plant, remove all the raw fertilizer, and replace it with a potting soil made by thoroughly mixing mountain soil and river sand, then repot and plant it.
