What to Do When White Orchid Tree Leaves Turn Yellow?

①Chlorosis. It is mainly caused by the potting soil being too alkaline. Reasons for alkaline potting soil:

1. The potting soil itself is alkaline;

2. Applying too much alkaline inorganic fertilizer or water. Symptoms: The leaves gradually turn from green to yellow-white, and in severe cases the leaves become brown, forming localized necrosis. When the leaves begin to turn yellow, promptly spray the foliage with 0.2{bf} ferrous sulfate once a week for 3~4 consecutive times, or spray with alum fertilizer water once a week for 3~4 consecutive times, and the condition can be brought under control.

②Root rot. The causes of root rot are: overwatering and failure to promptly drain accumulated water from the pot during consecutive rainy days. Symptoms: The root system turns black and rots, the leaves wither and yellow and drop off, causing the entire plant to die. Therefore, normally wait until the surface of the potting soil turns white before watering, and loosen the soil frequently. During the plum rain season or when there is too much rain, it is advisable to move the plant under the eaves or indoors to shelter from the rain; when potting, add more broken tiles and the like to the bottom of the pot to ensure smooth drainage, and prop the pot up on bricks to speed up water flow.
