How Often to Water Orchids? Master the Correct Watering Frequency

Orchid watering should be done according to the seasons. In spring, when all things come back to life, water once every morning before nine o'clock, and avoid watering at night; in the dry and hot summer, water once in the morning and once in the evening each day, and improve indoor ventilation; in the rainy autumn, watering once every two days is enough; in winter, generally water as appropriate based on soil moisture.
1. Spring
In spring, orchids are generally watered once every morning before nine o'clock. Do not water the plant at night or in the early morning, because at night the air does not circulate well, the water cannot fully disperse, and it is easy to cause waterlogging in the plant's root system, leading to root rot and causing the orchid to die.
2. Summer
In summer the weather is dry and hot, and the plant loses water quickly. At this time, increase the number of waterings, watering once in the morning and once in the evening each day. Water thoroughly so that the plant's soil stays moist at all times, and strengthen indoor air circulation. Frequently spray the plant with water mist to keep the surface of its stems and leaves moist.
3. Autumn
Autumn is a season of continuous rain and temperatures that rise and fall unpredictably, with a large temperature difference over the course of a day, and the air is very humid, so watering once every two days is enough. If there is continuous rain, you can stop watering to ensure normal soil drainage and avoid waterlogging of the root system.
4. Winter In winter the air is very dry and the temperature is low, so orchids are generally watered once a month in winter to keep the soil slightly moist; the plant's roots have a weak absorption capacity in winter, and watering too much will cause waterlogging and rot of its root system, and in serious cases will cause the plant to wither and die.
