How to manage orchids during the budding stage

During the budding stage, orchids need to be watered about once every 5 days and given sufficient light. When budding in summer, they need sun protection, and water must be provided to the orchids in a timely manner. In autumn, the temperature needs to be maintained at around 18-25°C. In fact, hormones can also be used to promote budding, which can make orchids take root and sprout faster.

1. Water and fertilizer management

Each time orchids are propagated in spring and autumn, during their budding stage, the amount of watering needs to be controlled. They can be watered about once every 5 days, and no fertilizer should be given. Watering should be stopped on rainy days. Only in this way can orchids sprout better in the soil.

2. Light requirements Many people do not know that mature orchids need to grow under sufficient light, and during their budding stage they also need to be placed in sunlight for care. They should also be placed in a well-ventilated area. This can make orchids sprout quickly and is also beneficial to the growth of orchid seedlings.

3. Sun protection and cooling

In fact, orchids can also be sown in summer to sprout, but the survival rate will be very low. They need to be moved to a cool, ventilated place for sun protection, and water should be sprayed around them every day to lower the temperature. This can prompt orchids to take root and sprout faster and increase the success rate of orchid sprouting.

4. Temperature control Generally, orchids like to grow at around 25°C. The day-night temperature difference in autumn is relatively large, so the temperature needs to be controlled well. Otherwise, it will affect the sprouting efficiency of orchids and may even cause them not to sprout. We can control the temperature at 18-25°C, which is beneficial to orchid sprouting.

5. Bud promotion treatment

During the budding stage of orchids, we can actually also spray hormones that promote orchid sprouting, such as Lanjun Wang. Spraying an appropriate amount is enough. This can make orchids sprout quickly. However, orchids grown after such bud promotion do not have as high ornamental value as naturally grown orchids, so it is best not to spray chemicals to promote budding during normal care.
