Why do some orchid roots grow above the soil?

With orchids kept at home, you may occasionally notice that some roots grow out. This not only affects the appearance, but also makes people worry that the orchid will not grow healthily, so some flower lovers want to find out the reason:

Orchid roots

There are mainly two reasons why orchid roots arch up above the soil surface

1. The orchid pot is too small to contain them. For example, if it has not been repotted for three years;

2. Long-term drought and lack of water, the pot soil is too full, water overflows when watering, and the pot soil remains in a water-deficient state for a long time. You can use a suitable tall orchid pot, replace the growing medium, and when watering, be sure to water until water comes out of the hole at the bottom of the pot.
