Several issues to understand when raising rabbits

Any farming project requires a lot of preparatory work in the early stage, and raising rabbits is no exception. Compared with many farming projects, rabbit farming requires relatively small investment and has a relatively short cycle, but this also means that under normal circumstances it is hard to make a lot of money. So what issues should you understand before raising rabbits? Everyone can pay attention to the following points.

1. Adapt measures to local conditions

The selection of rabbit breeds is crucial. At present, rabbit breeds mainly lean toward three aspects. First, pure meat rabbits raised for meat; second, meat rabbits leaning toward fur; third, meat rabbits leaning toward high rabbit kit production. Each has its own focus, so when selecting breeds, you must first figure out which type is more popular in your area. Second, you need to understand whether these types of rabbits are suitable for breeding where you are. It is not necessarily true that introduced breeds are always good, because they may fail to adapt to the local environment, causing the benefits of introducing breeding stock to be even lower than your original benefits. Be prepared to adapt measures to local conditions.

2. Raising rabbits is not simple

You can say rabbits have strong adaptability, but it also makes sense to say their adaptability is poor. Because some farmers are not very clear about rabbits' habits, they often make some mistakes during breeding, yet rabbits can still survive tenaciously. But it is also possible that rabbits were being raised perfectly well, and then a single case of diarrhea caused mass deaths. This is also a problem that easily occurs. Breeding stock introduction, reproduction, fattening, sanitation, disease, and so on, every aspect requires accumulated experience over time. So when it comes to raising rabbits, it is best to approach it with an extremely hardworking mindset, and in the end the returns may still not satisfy you very much. Raising rabbits is not a simple matter.

3. The rabbit shed has a great impact on rabbits

A good environment not only affects the fattening effect of meat rabbits, but is also greatly helpful for daily management. Many farmers have suffered losses over the rabbit shed. At first they could not find the problem no matter what, but after adjusting the rabbit shed, the effect was excellent. If the layout of the rabbit shed is unreasonable, the probability of rabbits being injured will rise, the breeding effect will decline, and the incidence of disease will increase. Therefore, during the breeding process, farmers should learn to adjust the layout slowly so that rabbits can have a good rabbit shed environment.

4. Sell in batches

Selling rabbits now is no longer like before, selling only meat rabbits in a single way, because then your profit will always be hard to increase. When raising rabbits, you should maximize the benefits of your rabbit farm. For example, after young rabbits are weaned, you can sell breeding stock; you do not necessarily have to continue raising them yourself and expand the scale. You can also select better-looking rabbits in between and contact some pet stores. And when meat rabbits are ready for market, you can also sell them online in retail form, not only by wholesale. In any case, try to sell something at every stage, sell in batches, and expand your ways of earning income as much as possible.

The above are some things you should understand before raising rabbits. If you really want to engage in rabbit farming, you must be mentally prepared, and it is always good to consider other things a bit more.
