How to grow a Clivia with no roots

I. Disinfection treatment

A Clivia with no roots is usually the result of root rot, so the roots were cut off. After cutting them off, it needs to be disinfected first; you can use carbendazim or potassium permanganate mixed with water to make a disinfectant solution. Then soak the trimmed area in it, and after 30-40 minutes take it out and let it dry. The disinfectant solution must not be too strong: the carbendazim content should be around 0.05%, and the potassium permanganate solution should be diluted to a pink color.

II. Preparing the potting soil

To help the Clivia grow roots, a suitable environment is needed, and the potting soil is the first step toward helping it root. The soil should be as loose and soft as possible and at the same time have good drainage. Soil that is too heavy and sticky is bad for root growth; you can use sand, vermiculite, etc. to make the potting soil, which helps it root.

III. Planting and potting up

Once the potting soil is ready, you can replant the Clivia. To give the roots enough space to grow, you can wrap the bottom with sawdust, then place it in the pot and fill with soil. After that, spray a little water, then put it in a cool, ventilated place.

IV. Follow-up care

During the rooting period of the Clivia, there must not be too much water; you can wait until the surface soil is dry before watering. Do not pour water into the leaf core, otherwise it will rot. During the care period it must not be exposed to light; wait until it has rooted, then gradually increase the light.
