Broccoli Transplanting Management Techniques

1. Seedling Preparation

Seedlings are the foundation of high broccoli yields, so they must be taken seriously. 1-3 days before transplanting, disinfect the seedbed by spraying Ruimiaoqing 8ml/bucket of water + Yiwei 20g/bucket of water + Aimeile 5g/bucket of water, to achieve sterile and pest-free seedling transplanting. Spray thoroughly and evenly so that the solution reaches the root crown.

2. Land Preparation and Sufficient Fertilizer Application

For broccoli to achieve high yields, base fertilizer is the most critical factor, and fertilization must be reasonable and balanced. Base fertilizer includes three major categories: (1) Organic fertilizer: 2 cubic meters of high-quality organic fertilizer per mu; (2) Chemical fertilizer: 30 jin of urea, 60 jin of superphosphate, 10 jin of potassium sulfate (or 50 jin of compound fertilizer with high nitrogen, high phosphorus and medium potassium); (3) Trace elements: 150g of Ciba boron-zinc fertilizer. This is the key to high broccoli yields, with the purpose of supplementing trace elements, balancing fertilization, and promoting higher broccoli yields.

Application method: Before land preparation, mix the organic fertilizer, chemical fertilizer and Ciba boron-zinc fertilizer evenly and broadcast over the entire field, then prepare the land.

3. Root Dipping for Disease and Pest Prevention

In order to reduce root diseases and pest damage in broccoli and promote seedling recovery, root dipping treatment should be carried out before transplanting. Mix 20ml of Gaoxiao + 20g of Yiwei + 10ml of Liangdun with 4-5 jin of water, add an appropriate amount of soil, and stir into a mud paste. After lifting the seedlings, dip them in the prepared solution before transplanting. This method can quickly stimulate broccoli rooting, resulting in more and stronger roots, reducing the damage of underground pests, with obvious yield-increasing effects.

4. Preventing Seedling Death After Planting

In plots with continuous broccoli cropping, seedling death after transplanting will worsen, namely stem base rot. But by the time it occurs, it is already too late to treat. Therefore, to prevent seedling death, spraying must be done after transplanting. Spray Ruimiaoqing 8ml/bucket of water + Yiwei 20g/bucket of water, or Yinfuli 20ml/bucket of water for control.

5. Timely Disease Prevention

After broccoli transplanting, there are not many diseases, mainly black rot on leaves, which can be prevented by spraying Antaisheng 25g/bucket of water + Wanhua 25g/bucket of water, spraying once every 15-20 days. In addition, in high-temperature weather, to promote growth, spray Ruipeile 10g/bucket of water + Ciba potassium dihydrogen phosphate 30g/bucket of water.

6. Pests and Control Methods

(1) Leafminer, which appears as white stripes on broccoli leaves and tunnels in the middle of leaf tissue

Control method: Spray avermectin 20ml/bucket of water + Decis 4ml/bucket of water.

(2) Lepidoptera pests are the most damaging pests to broccoli, including cabbage caterpillars, diamondback moths, beet armyworms, etc.

Control method: During peak moth occurrence, spray Daoteng 15ml/bucket of water on the foliage. It has a long residual effect, lasting more than 20 days with a single spray, and strong penetrability, so foliar spraying can control pests inside the leaves.
