How to care for orchids after repotting? Care for them this way after repotting and they will recover quickly

Orchid repotting

As the saying goes: three parts planting, seven parts care. Once orchids are planted well, care is very important. After repotting, orchids must be cared for in this way to grow well, and care mainly focuses on three aspects:

1. Water thoroughly

After orchids are planted well, the first watering must be thorough, so that the orchid soil in every part of the pot is moistened, commonly known as the settling-in watering. You can also mix a small amount of growth agents such as root-promoting agent and flower root vigor into the water, but the mixed concentration should be one times more dilute than normal (if you have already soaked the roots in a 1000-fold dilution of root-promoting agent, there is no need to water again). Note that when watering the settling-in water, never mix in fertilizer.

2. Do a good job of the shade-care period

Since the roots of a newly planted orchid have not yet formed the best supply relationship with the surrounding soil, placing it directly in sunlight easily causes water loss, so it is best to place it in a cool, ventilated place for 25-30 days (for Cymbidium faberi the shade-care period can be appropriately shortened by 5-7 days, and for other orchids with well-developed roots and vigorous growth the shade-care period can also be appropriately shortened). At 15 days, you can water once more with a 1500-fold dilution of flower root vigor, and at 30 days you can water once more with a 2000-fold dilution of sprouting agent. These plant growth regulators can be omitted. If used, never use them in excess.

Newly potted orchids should be given plain care, and should not be fertilized within 2 months. After 2 months, those with good roots can be given light fertilizer; those with poor roots should not be fertilized within half a year, and after half a year can be given light fertilizer.

3. Suitable environment

Once orchids have passed the shade-care period, they can be placed in the greenhouse for normal care. In care, as long as you can master the four elements (light, temperature, humidity, ventilation) and the three aspects (watering, fertilizing, pest and disease control), you can make orchids grow with vigorous roots and lush leaves, thriving and delightful.
