How to grow Clivia miniata seedlings well?

② When planting the seedlings, first add a layer of coarse soil granules to a 13 cm clay pot (with 2-3 broken tile pieces placed over the drainage hole at the bottom), then spread a layer of fine soil on top. Place the seedling in the center of the pot, hold the seedling with one hand, gradually add soil with the other, then shake or gently tap the pot so the soil binds with the seedling roots, water thoroughly, and place in a semi-shaded spot indoors. After about 10 days of "acclimating to the pot," it can be moved to a ventilated spot by a window, gradually increasing light in the morning and evening. For the soil, use 5 parts mountain soil mixed with 2 parts river sand and 1 part rice husk ash; if conditions allow, mix some decomposed cattle manure crumbs into the soil.

③ Clivia miniata is warm-natured and fears severe cold; it prefers a moist, semi-shaded environment. 10°C-25°C is its growing period, with spring and autumn being best. In summer, protect it from scorching sun exposure; in winter, move it indoors to keep warm. The potting soil should not be too wet; slightly on the dry side is better, as excessive moisture causes root rot and scorched leaves. When cultivating seedlings, fertilizer requirements are not high; in May-June and in autumn, apply 1-2 times of dilute nitrogen fertilizer. Purchased 1-2 year old seedlings, after careful cultivation, will bloom after 4 years.
