How to prevent and control leaf spot disease in clivia? A detailed practical guide
Symptoms: This disease mainly infects the leaves. In the early stage of infection, small brown spots appear on the leaves, gradually expanding into large irregular spots ranging from yellowish-brown to grayish-brown. The diseased area is slightly sunken, with the edges slightly raised. In the later stage, the spots dry up and develop small black granules on the surface.
Pathogen and disease pattern: The pathogen is a type of fungus. When too much nitrogen fertilizer is applied during cultivation and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are relatively insufficient, the disease is likely to occur. Under conditions of high temperature and dryness, or when scale insects cause severe damage, leaf spot disease is prone to occur and cause harm.
Prevention and control methods:
① Remove diseased leaves and diseased plant debris. Reduce sources of infection.
② Control scale insects, avoid pest damage, and reduce infection.
③ In the early stage of the disease, spray with 50% carbendazim 1000-fold solution, 70% thiophanate-methyl wettable powder 1000-fold solution, and 50% amobam 1000-fold solution for control.
