Banlangen tablets can treat orchid viral disease

Orchid viral disease is also known as Bailasi disease. Its pathogen is neither a bacterium nor a fungus, but a virus. It is a highly damaging and very difficult-to-cure disease, known as the cancer of orchids. It is not only contagious but also hereditary. Once infected, it can cause devastating losses to an entire patch of orchids. Ten years ago, I encountered such a disaster. In this battle against the disaster, I discovered that medical Banlangen tablets, used to spray the leaves and water the roots, can cure orchid viral disease.

In the mid-1990s, on the new leaves of a pot of Daxuesu I had purchased, I found several milky-white spots with water-stain-like edges, lusterless and slightly translucent. At that time I did not know it was a disease and mistakenly thought the orchid seedling had mutated. I was very happy and gave it preferential management such as extra fertilization. Later I found that the orchid seedling was growing worse and worse, the water-colored appearance faded, the spots became sunken, and when held up to strong light they appeared lusterless and wrinkled. Only then did I realize it might be caused by disease, so I sprayed more than ten times with pesticides such as carbendazim, copper hydroxide, prochloraz, and Score, but there was still no improvement. Instead, the orchid leaves shrank even more. Over the course of half a year, the entire pot of Daxuesu gradually withered and died from the old plants to the young ones. Even more seriously, not long after I disposed of the diseased Daxuesu in that pot, the new leaves of more than ten pots around it, including Daxuesu, Lianpiansu, Chun Jian, and Suhua Hutoulan, also showed that kind of disease spot. If not controlled in time, orchids bought for tens of thousands of yuan would be in danger of all dying.

In order to clarify the condition and prescribe the right treatment, I consulted experienced senior orchid growers. Under their guidance, I confirmed that the orchids had viral disease. The pesticides used before were only effective against orchid diseases caused by bacteria or fungi, and had no effect on viral disease. Later I found a small folk remedy that said boiling the Chinese herbal medicine Banlangen in water, diluting it, and spraying and watering with it could treat orchid viruses. The specific method is: put 2 tablets into 100 ml of water to make a basin of Banlangen solution, take the upper clear liquid part and put it into a sprayer, and spray the entire orchid plant thoroughly on the leaves; take the remaining part mixed with residue and pour 100 to 200 ml at the roots of the diseased orchid. Do this once every 3 days, for a total of 7 times. After that, change to once a week and do it 3 more times. A total of 10 times were carried out. At this point, the miracle finally appeared: the disease spots on the orchid leaves gradually faded. Soon, the haggard leaf color gradually turned emerald green, and the growth was vigorous. The newly sprouted small shoots grew well. Until now, seven or eight years have passed, and no viral disease has been found in the orchids again. The above case of preventing and treating orchid viral disease proves that medical Banlangen can indeed effectively cure orchid viral disease. The cancer of orchids is no longer an incurable disease. If any orchid grower's plants are infected with this disease, you might as well give it a try.
