Introduction to the cutting propagation method of Aglaia odorata, easy for beginners to learn
Aglaia odorata has small leaves and small flowers, is very cute, and is easy to grow, so it is very suitable for indoor cultivation. The main propagation method of Aglaia odorata is cutting, and the cutting propagation method of Aglaia odorata is divided into two types: one is softwood cuttings from the current year's growth, carried out from June to August; the other is old stem cuttings from the previous year, carried out from April to May. Although the cutting times are different, the steps and methods of cutting are actually the same. So, below we will introduce the cutting propagation method of Aglaia odorata.

1. Choosing the medium
Before cutting, you must prepare a cutting bed. According to the number of cuttings, use containers of different diameters. When there are fewer cuttings, you can use flower pots; when there are more cuttings, you can use larger-diameter containers such as wooden boxes. Fill the bottom of the pot with broken tile pieces to improve drainage.
2. Choosing the branches
The cutting methods for Aglaia odorata are generally divided into two types: one is softwood from the current year's growth, and the other is old stems from the previous year. Each of these two methods has advantages and disadvantages. Choosing branches from the current year's growth gives a slightly higher survival rate.
3. Steps and method
Actually, the cutting method is very simple, just follow the steps below.
First, insert the branch into the previously prepared soil and water it thoroughly; then put the flower pot into a plastic bucket. You can place a brick at the bottom of the bucket, then add a small amount of water. Put the Aglaia odorata pot into the plastic bucket, then cover the opening of the bucket with glass. Open the cover after 3~5 days to let in some air.

4. Care
After cutting, place the plant in a cool place for care, keep the temperature at 25~28°C, and frequently spray water on the leaves to increase the humidity of the surrounding environment and promote its growth.
The cutting cycle of Aglaia odorata is relatively long, and it takes 50~60 days to succeed. If during this period the branches do not wilt and the color of the leaves does not turn yellow, this indicates that the base of the branch has fully healed. After a period of time, new buds will grow between the leaf stems, which indicates that roots have formed.
