What requirements must be met to build a new chicken farm?

Construction requirements for a chicken farm

From rural areas to cities, there are many chicken farms, and all kinds of chicken farm constructions. For example, a simple farm may just need a chicken coop and a large open area, with a simple fence put up nearby, and the conditions are not particularly good. There are also ones built especially well, fully equipped with all kinds of facilities, using the best materials, and with advantages in environment and site, but they may not be very practical. So I think the best chicken farm is one that is fully equipped, has a good environment, and has highly practical construction and facilities. Let us take a look at the specific requirements together.

1. Environmental requirements

Whether in the city or the countryside, it must be far away from places where people live, there needs to be a water supply, and there needs to be a site for properly handling waste. It should also be far from some mines. To avoid polluting water sources, water that cannot be used, some of which also affects people's health, must not be used. Stay away from factories; some factories discharge wastewater, which may also pollute water sources. Then the smoke they emit is also toxic. The roads should be connected so vehicles can come and go. Look for a place near small hills that is warm in winter and cool in summer.

2. Facility conditions

Ordinary chicken coops, brooding rooms, hatching rooms, isolation rooms, activity areas, and free-range areas are needed. The surrounding environment needs to be greened, and it is best to have fruit groves or small woods as activity areas. Adult chickens all need to rest in the chicken coop at night. For hatching in summer, a separate hatching room with incubators is needed. Newly hatched chicks must be moved to a brooding room to be raised for a period. Pendant lights, a warm environment, and clean utensils are needed. Sick chickens must be isolated to avoid contagion.

3. Ventilation and air permeability

The length of the chicken coop should not be too long, and the length and width should correspond to each other. A long, narrow space is not good for air exchange, and it is inconvenient for the flock to enter and exit, making crowding and trampling incidents easy to occur. Opening more windows allows comprehensive ventilation at any time. It is best to install exhaust fans, which do not change the indoor temperature much but can still replace the air. The two ends of the chicken coop should be the main channels for ventilation and air exchange.

4. Laying the floor

There are two kinds of floors for construction. One is directly on solid ground, and the second is a wire mesh surface. Choose a floor that is easy to clean and not slippery. A floor resistant to water soaking and corrosion is best. Directly using concrete ground is also very good. The mesh is to isolate the chickens from their waste, so the flock will not directly contact the waste and is less likely to be infected by pathogens. It is relatively healthier, but a treatment system must be built, and the cost may be somewhat higher.

The main requirements for chicken farm construction are complete facilities, a good environment, cleanliness and hygiene, and a good indoor environment. It should be enough to provide the best environment for the flock to live through all four seasons. With a good environment, growth will also be better, including making it convenient for management personnel to manage. It will not pollute the surrounding environment.
