When growing orchids, choose pots with the same drainage speed
The size of the orchid pot's proportions, the thickness of the pot walls, the coarseness of the entire pot material, the size of the drainage holes at the bottom, and whether the pot bottom is made flat or slanted - these various details make a huge difference to how well the pot drains and ventilates.
In order to harmonize the many orchid pots in a growing room so that their drainage speed can be uniform and consistent, you must use pots that are similar in size, thickness, coarseness, and shape, so that when many orchid pots in the same room are watered at the same time, after the same period, the drying state of each pot is exactly the same, or at least not too different.
Because if the various pots in the room differ too much in drainage speed, and you water the same amount every day in the same way, then as time passes, without you even realizing it, the slow-draining ones will constantly hold water and rot their roots, while the fast-draining ones will often be too dry and end up stunted. Waterlogged roots and dry, stunted growth are both major taboos in cultivation!
